Niederau is the first village of the Wildschönau and lies at an altitude of 828m, in total the Wildschönau has four church villages, Niederau, Oberau, Auffach and Thierbach.

Hiking
In the summer you can go hiking in Niederau and surroundings by using the more than 300km of prepared and marked hiking trails. Enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the view of the numerous high ridges of the Kitzbühel and Zillertal Alps. Of course you can enjoy the mountain scenery and local dishes on the way in the many alpine huts or at various resting places.
The gondola takes you in summer in a short time to the top of the Markbachjoch of Niederau (1500m) or on the Schatzberg of Auffach (2000m) from here again many walks are possible.
A nice walk with little difference in height is the Kundler Klamm, a gorge that connects the Wildschönau valley with the village of Kundl in the Inn Valley.

Biking
A mountain bike or e-bike tour through the meadows and to the peaks of the Wildschönau is an unforgettable experience. The Wildschönau offers many and beautiful mountain bike tours.
Over the Markbachjoch, from Thierbach or on the Schatzberg.
To the Horlerstiegl chapel via the hamlet of Roggenboden. From the chapel the journey continues to the Käsealm on Markbachjoch.
The Achentalalm in Oberau or the Oberauer Zauberwinkl are both accessible by road.
An e-bike tour is possible throughout the entire Wildschönau valley.
A small bike tour tip from us leads to the Norderbergalm and then on to the Kreuz von Markbachjoch, then to the Brixentaler Holzalm and via Riedlhof back to Oberau.
In the Familienerlebnis Drachental, you can do a few laps on the bike trails to perfect your technique.

BY THE WAY, WE ARE A QUALITY-APPROVED CYCLING AND BIKE ACCOMMODATION
You are welcome to store your bike in our locked bike room. You can easily clean your mountain bike in our wash area.We also have e-mountain bikes for rent, so almost everyone can enjoy the Wildschönau on two wheels. The bikes can be booked in advance via email. Of course, this is also possible on location.
A comprehensive bike map contains all excursion destinations and designated cycle paths. You can get the card for € 2.00 at the reception from the Wildschönau Tourismus Information office.

More sports activities
Our guests have free access with their Guest Card to the open air swimming pool with slide and playground in Oberau at 1 km.
You can also use the tennis court next to the swimming pool for free.
A paragliding tandem jump from Markbachjoch is also one of the possibilities.
Horse-Riding can be done at Hotel Wastlhof in Niederau or Hotel Haflingerhof in Mühltal.
